"A beautiful wood-aged wine, it's power and concentration feel smooth and stylish, with elegant tannins, and toast and ripe black-currant flavors. It's a wine with the potential to age for 3-4 years. -RV" (06/12)

Description:

Wine/Winemaking:
"Alente Premium has a deep garnet colour with chestnut nuances. Its aromas are of red fruits, toast and vanilla. Rich in fruit, full-bodied its tannic structure ensures longevity. he grapes were destemmed and fermentation took place in small vats at a controlled temperature of 25 degrees to 27 degrees C. Maceration was intense and prolonged. After fermentation the wine underwent cuvaison for about a month during which period malolactic fermentation took place. It was aged in new American oak barrels for 10 months after which time the blend was created and the wine stabilised and filtered prior to bottling. It spent six months in the bottle before being released in the market." - Importer

Alente:
"Farm workers in Alentejo have always enjoyed singing as they have worked. Singing is a way of alleviating the toil, and it also marks the tempo of routine tasks. Consequently, words and tunes have been improvised that are nearly always related to the different tasks in the fields; from watching over livestock, to reaping, and to grape harvesting. Alentejo today has a wonderful songbook that is part of the region's cultural heritage."

"Every village and hamlet has its own melodies for its polyphonic singing groups. Singing is the main expression of popular culture. Alente wine is a tribute to this culture, which is so typical of the Alentejo, its land, and its people. Alente wines are crafted from the Alentejo region of Portugal." - Importer
