The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Description:
This 2-pack includes 1 bottle of 2006 - Capanne Ricci Brunello Di Montalcino, and 1 bottle of 2008 - Nottola Anterivo.
2006 - Capanne Ricci Brunello Di Montalcino
"What beautiful sweetness of fruit here, with plum tart, Indian spices and lightly toasted oak. Full and very velvety, with ripe and fine tannins. Need another two or three years to come around. New winery for me. Look for it." (01/11) - 93 Pts James Suckling - JamesSuckling.com
"Concentrated maturing ruby with orange highlights. Good length but ever so slightly simple, alcoholic and a touch tough on the finish. Drink from 2012 to 2017. (WS)" - 15 out of 20 Points, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages.
Wine:
"Ruby red colour with slight garnet hues. Intense, soft and spicy on the nose. Dry with a great structure, aromatic with a long persistence." - Winery
Vinification/Vineyard:
"Grapes pressing with temperature controlled fermentation (26 - 28 degrees) followed by a 10/12 days maceration in order to obtain from these grapes a largest quantity of substances that will contribute to make this wine rich in the colour and in the corpulence. After the racking, the monolactic fermentation will give to this wine characteristics of softness and considerable structure. Then we have several decantings and permanency in big barrels and barriques during two years minimum. The subsequent period of refining into bottles will take four months minimum but this could increase for a larger period in order to develop more its perfume and aroma."
"The vineyards that produce this wine are planted in S. Angelo in Colle area at 300 meters above sea level with a south exposition and located on a marly land." - Winery
2008 - Nottola Anterivo:
"A tightly wound red, whose cherry, blackberry, tobacco and mineral flavors are wrapped in a strong grip of tannins. This is fresh, with enough fruit to balance its structure. Spice and mineral notes grace the finish. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best from 2014 through 2025. 500 cases made." (10/11) - 92 Pts Wine Spectator
"The 2008 Anterivo is a fresh, beautifully delineated wine laced with black cherries, espresso, flowers, crushed rocks and menthol, all of which come together nicely in the glass. A persistent vein of minerality gives the wine its focus and sense of direction. This is a terrific showing from Nottola. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018." (08/11) - 90 Pts Antonio Galloni - The Wine Advocate
Wine:
"Wine characterised by an intense ruby red colour. Wide aromatic spectrum with delicious notes of vanilla, red fruits and sweet spices. Round and soft on the palate, with complex tannins. Persistent." - Winery
Winemaking:
"Made from Merlot and Sangiovese. The soil is mainly clay, rich in stones. The average age of vines are 14 years old. The harvest is done between September and October. Maceration on the skins for 20 days with numerous pressings. 20% Salasso method (free-run juice). Fermentation in stainless steel, with aging done in French oak barriques for 12 months." - Winery
