Product Details:
This item is a presale and is set to arrive tomorrow. Please wait for an email confirmation before picking up in store!
Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!
You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!
Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

89 Pts Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"Fermented in seasoned oak casks, the 2009 Pinot Gris has a moderate intensity of pear and ripe peach aromas with a hint of bit of pink guava. Concentrated and silken textured, it's made to a medium-dry style with lively acidity balance and a long, honey-laced finish. Drinking now, it should keep through 2013." (10/11) |
Description:
WINE:
"White gold in colour the Prophet's Rock 2009 displays a wide spectrum of aromatics from pear, peach and citrus peel to quince and spice notes with an underlying minerality. These aromas are echoed on the concentrated, crisp and long lingering palate. The freshness, aromatics and concentration of this wine mean it will harmonize with a diverse range of Asian and Pacific Rim dishes, fish, seafood, salads and white meats. Good acid structure and concentration mean that this wine will also reward careful cellaring for those with patience over the next 5 years." -Winery
VINEYARDS:
"The Prophet's Rock Pinot Gris comes from both our Bendigo and Pisa vineyards and is supplemented by fruit from the Mount Koinga vineyard also in the Pisa sub-region. These warmer areas of Central Otago combined with careful viticulture allow us to produce a very aromatic style of Pinot Gris whilst retaining the trade mark freshness of the region. This wine has achieved an avid following in a short space of time despite production being very small."
"The vinification is heavily influenced by Paul's time in Alsace where use of wild yeast, multiple small vessels and long ageing are the norm. After long slow ferments the various components are aged on their yeast lees before bottling. This is a truly aromatic expression of Pinot Gris and a marvellous food wine." -Winery
