Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!
You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!
Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

93 Pts Wine & Spirits |
"Winemaker Ana Martin crafts this luxury cuvee from 80-year-old tempranillo vines grown in a walled vineyard at the highest point in Rioja Alta. It feels gentle and mellow rather than pushed, a completely modern wine in the clean, supple texture. The plum-scented fruit is clearly topflight, as is the tannin, both expansive and soft. With beautiful fruit, simply presented, this is ready to decant now, and it will grow increasingly more complex over the next ten years." |
90+ Pts Jay Miller - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"The more expensive 2001 Cerrado del Castillo de Cuzcurrita, made from 100% Tempranillo aged 14 months in French oak, is opaque purple in color. The brooding nose, with coaxing, offers vanilla bean, scorched earth, blueberry, blackberry, and licorice. The wineâs personality is tightly wound although densely packed with a ton of fruit and plenty of concentration. Presently it is something of a gamble but 6-8 years of evolution in bottle could bring it all together. If so, my score will be laughably low." |
Description:
"Cerrado del Castillo is only made in exceptional cases when the harvest reaches the maximum expression of 'terroir' and perfect balance is achieved. This only happens in outstanding years, until now only in 2001 and 2004, when the climate is ideal for obtaining a perfectly matured harvest."
"This unique wine is made from the fruit of a 35 year old Tempranillo vineyard located within the Castillo walled estate. After a rigorous selection of the bunches and after alcohol fermentation, the wine is transferred to barrels in the castle's cellar where it rests for approximately 18 months."
"Deep Picota cherry in colour with intense and elegant aromas. It stands out for its balance and aromatic persistence in the mouth resulting in a long wine with complex flavours and a pleasant finish. It has inimitable sensory characteristics that are genuine in their origin." -Winery
WINERY:
"The Castillo de Cuzcurrita stands out as being the most significant architectural structure on Senorio de Cuzcurrita land, and can be described as a typical Rioja Alta construction. Prior to the current ownership, the castle has belonged to several lords and noblemen: from 1464 with Sancho de Rojas, to Hernando de Santo Domingo, Pedro Suarez de Figueroa, don Bernardino and the Marques de Lazan in 1856."
"Inherited, obtained or acquired, the castle passed into the hands of the Sainz de Inchaustegui family, Counts of Alacha, who held the castle under their ownership from 1945 and were the pioneers of its refurbishment and maintenance. Since 1999, the Castillo de Cuzcurrita and its various properties have belonged to Berge y Cia. From the very beginning the new owners initiated a comprehensive remodelling process that would ensure the castle's architectural magnificence would endure for centuries."
"The refurbishment was not only aesthetic; the winery installations were also renovated in order to improve and modernize production techniques. As a result of this comprehensive modernization our wines are created in optimum conditions, as wines of this quality demand." -Winery
