90 Pts Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"Ville Rouge's gorgeous 2006 Crozes-Hermitage Inspiration is a serious wine. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of melted road tar, incense, burning embers, tapenade, and black currant liqueur. Superb concentration, full body, silky tannin, and a layered, complex personality suggest it should be consumed over the next 7-8 years." -90 points Robert Parker |
Description:
"The terraced vineyards have soils with layers of gravel and red clay. The age of the vines is 10-20 years old. Before fermentation, a cold soak is done at 10 degrees Celsius for 4 days. Traditional winemaking follows, with regular pumping over and punching downs, finishing with fermentation on the skins. Free run juice is then placed half in barrels and half in stainless steel. The wine is aged for a year, until the next year's harvest."
"Red, with deep purple hue. Intense nose with red fruits; an elegant and fruity wine that finishes with silky tannins. Drink this with poultry, red meat, or cheese." -Winery; translated from French by KM
