A juicy, fruity red with plum and cherry character. Medium body, soft tannins and a fresh finish. Drink now.

91 Pts International Wine Report

This Rosso di Montalcino slowly opens to inviting aromatics of cherries and red plums along with spices, leather and hints of wild herbs all coming together seamlessly. On the palate this is silky and polished, continuing to impress with its overall balance. There is a lovey core of sweet red fruits which are lifted by the underlying acidity as it enters the long, pretty finish. This is an outstanding effort which will continue to impress over the next few years.

There is a wide range of red wines that are made in Tuscany, but the one thing that everyone understands is that it is the home to the best Sangiovese in the world.

Montalcino is a small appellation where the best Sangiovese (Brunello) is made. When a winery wants to make a wine from the grape but not follow the aging rules to make it a "Brunello di Montalcino", you end up with a Rosso di Montalcino.
