"Surely one of the top estates in the region, Vallee des Aigles has turned out another stellar wine in its 2017 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Cuvee Saint Martin. Slightly fuller bodied and darker fruited than the regular bottling, it's still inviting, complex and fresh, marrying black cherries and plums with hints of thyme, roses and cedar."

The 2017 Vallee des Aigles Cotes du Roussillon Villages 'Cuvee Saint Martin' displays pretty aromas of crushed black raspberries, cherries, black pepper, spices and lavender that all emerge from the glass. It possesses a lovely round, velvety texture and mouthfeel that remains fresh through the fruit driven finish. This is approachable now, but also has the potential to evolve nicely over the next five years.

Grenache, Syrah, and Mouvedre are the backbone to many great wines in France, especially in places like Roussilon.

These classic wines are full-bodied, earthy, and well-balanced with lots of fruit and terroir. This rings true in the 2017 Vallee Des Aigles Cotes Du Roussillon Villages Cuvee Saint Martin!

While this wine is already 5 years old, you could push the aging period a little longer and it will get better!
