Lots of blue fruit with black-cherry and black-truffle aromas that follow through to a full body with round and velvety tannins and lots of ripe fruit and creamy undertones. The tannins just melt into the wine. Drink in 2022, but already so delicious. |
92 Pts Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
This is a new, single-vineyard wine from Verbena. The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Le Pope is driven by dark, sultry fruit and sweet oak. Those two contrasting sides of the wine build a powerful fruit profile and determined momentum. The fruit is strong and well defined in this vintage; however, there is a lot of oak spice and toast added to the mix, calling for some smoked brisket. The wine sports a thick and darkly saturated appearance. |
