Brilliant ruby-red. Smoke-tinged cherry, dark berries, candied flowers and a hint of vanilla on the deeply perfumed nose. Intense black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show impressive depth and turn sweeter on the back half. Finishes very long and chewy, with a resonating floral quality, repeating spiciness and youthfully solid tannins that avoid intruding on the wine's juicy, lingering dark fruit. |
Description:
This special bottling of Pinot Noir starts with the best selection of grapes from the vineyard, and once they are fermented and barreled, only the best juice goes into this wine. With little to no modern technology, this is as old school as it gets.
The wine is perfectly balanced with bright fruit and earth. Plenty of acidity and a non aggressive ABV, this is as close you can get to Burgundy without actually being made there. Drink now if you would like, but also don't be afraid to lay this down for 5 to 10 years. This is one of the great premium wines of the Willamette Valley.
