"Fresh and really bright with sliced-apple and -pear character. Hints of cream. Medium body. Linear and vivid. Easy. No oak. Drink now. Screw cap." |
90 Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media |
"Pale straw-yellow. Fresh peach and apricot on the nose, plus a touch of candied apple and a spice note that does not come from wood. A juicy, inviting midweight with noteworthy energy to its flavors of orchard fruits and white peach. Offers a sexy hint of sweetness on entry, then turns firmer toward the back, finishing with a brisk green apple note. Strong fruit here." |
Description:
Baer Winery has one goal which is to translate the quality and flavors they taste when checking the grapes into the glass. They want to express the terroir and fruit with minimal outside influence. They have some of the best vineyards in Washington State and they will do anything and everything to make sure you get the purest form of their wines.
The Shard is a 100% Chardonnay, unoaked, and kept extremely fresh. While it has all of the intense fruit flavors of golden apple, lemon curd, and tropical fruits, there is still plenty of zip and flavor without layers of serious oak. This is a that anyone can get behind. A lot of times people steer away from the grape because of the amount of oak that is generally used in winemaking.
With this wine, you won't have to worry about that. Dink now with lighter foods. It is a great wine to start the evening!
