98 Pts Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
"The wine has everything in place, and
nothing out of place. It is striking and
restrained at the same time, and delivers
youthful charm of classic young Bordeaux,
offering concentration, purity and
complexity all in this gracious package that
is Coleraine â15.
Cassis, dark plum, violet, cigar and roasted
almond lead to a palate that is perfectly
proportioned and detailed with focus
and structure, wonderfully enhanced by
delectable fruit flavours and elegant oak
infusion. Seamless and persistent with a
promise to develop magnificently."

"New Zealandâs Grange equivalent, only it comes from one place, is much cheaper, and to my tastes, is significantly better and more interesting."
96 Pts Huon Hooke - www.huonhooke.com
"Deep red/purple colour and a ripe berry aroma which recalls blueberry, blackberry and raspberry. A fine, balanced but persuasive tannin grip, and excellent persistence. Very stylish wine with a big future. A top vintage."
96 Pts James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
"Aromas of sweet pipe tobacco, rich blueberry, mulberry and blueberry fruits as well as nicely played oak influence adding spicy allure, some stony nuances too. Smells deep and rich. The palate plays a very supple and smooth textural game with impressive richness of dark cherry and berry flavour leading into a bright, lively and upbeat finish that has tinges of cocoa powder flavour. Smooth resolve, all class. Balanced now but there's more to come. This will fill out nicely. Best from 2020."
"New Zealandâs First Growth. Many critics consider Coleraine up there with the best Bordeaux blends in the world. The original intention may have been to mirror the top Cru Classé but, today Coleraine has evolved its own style." -Decanter

SAUVIGNON, MERLOT AND CABERNET FRANC DISPLAYS THE
CONCENTRATION, COMPLEXITY AND ELEGANCE FOUND IN THE
WORLDâS FINEST WINES.

Winemaking: Each parcel of grapes was destemmed before a traditional warm, plunged fermentation and extended marceration on skins. The resulting wines were then run to predominately new French oak barrels for 17 monthsâ maturation. Throughout this time, they were regularly topped and racked. The separate wines were blended in January 2015 then egg white fined during their second winter in barrel. The finished wine was then bottled in December 2015. The final blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.
Origin: Coleraine derives its name from the Coleraine vineyard, home of John and Wendy Buck of Te Mata Estate. Johnâs late grandfather was born in Coleraine in Northern Ireland and the name has been maintained through the family home to the wine. Originally a single vineyard wine, from 1989 Coleraine has been an assemblage of the finest wines produced from distinct plots within Te Mata Estateâs oldest vineyards on the Havelock Hills." -Winery
