"Iwo Jakimowicz and Sarah Morris worked together at Juan Gil in Spain before finding a vineyard in Margaret River in 2010. They farm it under biodynamic principles and make their wines without any additions, other than a little sulfur at bottling. This white, a blend of semillon and sauvignon blanc, states its natural wine credentials in a cloudy color and cidery, oxidative scent—components that led two of our tasters to find it generic. Three others championed the wine for its complexity and the slow release of orchard fruit flavors. If you enjoy clean, direct fruit flavor in your white wine, look elsewhere. This one is more about bass notes of seaweed and mushrooms, juicy notes of snap peas and celery and a burst of lemon that propels the wine toward fresher notes of pear and peach as it takes on air. It’s a fascinating white and a compelling take on the inland side of Margaret River."

"(fermented in concrete eggs, used French oak casks and stainless steel tanks and then aged on its lees for nine months): Light, hazy yellow. Aromas of dried lemon and pear skin, with hints of smoky lees, succulent herbs and green almond in the background. Chewy and dry on the palate, offering ripe orchard and pit fruit flavors and a jolt of bitter lemon pith. Rich and fleshy but shows very good tension and focus as well, finishing with lingering notes of honeycomb, chamomile and lemon curd."

"Chardonnay and Sémillon seem to be easy bedfellows, particularly for early complexity for ready consumption and interest. The Sémillon is fermented in concrete eggs and hand-harvested from the Si home block, the Chardonnay from a vineyard managed by Iwo and Sarah. The fruit was hand harvested, whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented in a mixture of concrete eggs, large format french oak and stainless steel. Kept on lees until just prior to bottling (9 months). Bottled unfiltered and unfined, no additives only a minimal sulphur addition at bottling.

Spicy kind of intro to this wine – gets you worked up for the hit of lemony, green apple-driven flavours that follow. Very crispy in texture with a kind of wild, loose-knit feel. So refreshing, more so for that brisk, saline tang that follows. Whip that palate clean. Zing, crunch. Super." - Importer
