"I've been a fan of the wines from this producer for a while now and this is a stunning showing. The winemaker behind these wines learned at Beaucastel, Hubert Lamy and even Domaine Romanee Conti before taking over Domaine David Moreau from his grandfather. The wines, are nothing short of amazing. Super traditional in style and every attention to detail is carefully maintained." |
Description:
"Santenay Cuvee "S", 1 ha: this "S"pecial Cuvee is a veiled reference to David's grand-parents, because it mainly comes from their first plot: les Cornieres (cornouiller is the French for dogwood tree, a bush growing in the area). This vineyard is located in the middle of the village and stands on a very thin soil where the parent rock practically outcrops. Each year, these old vines produce very small millerandes grapes, so flavours are really concentrated. The resulting wine is dense with dazzling fruit expression, fleshy and dainty." - Winery
