Another decadent, beautifully layered effort from this domaine, the 2011 Suis L'Etoile is made from 80% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 10% Syrah that was vinified and aged in older demi-muid. Loaded with ripe blackberry and black raspberry fruit, melted licorice, toasted spice and background meatiness, it hits the palate with a massive, mouth-coating texture, a stacked mid-palate and no hard edges. This is a hedonistic dream to enjoy over the coming 4-6 years.

Located in Maury, Domaine des Enfants is run by the talented couple of Marcel Buhler and Carrie Sumner, with Marcel managing the vineyards and Carrie spending most of the time in the cellar. These are gorgeous wines that show the classic richness and texture of the region, yet back it up with fabulous purity of fruit, notable freshness and all-around balanced profiles. These are exciting wines that Iâd happily drink any day.
