"The estate which gave birth to our wines is to be found on the Camino Real or Royal Way which runs from Madrid to Valencia and Alicante. An old inn or hostelry used to be located at this very location; while today there is little left of this historical building, stories of travelers and their journeys and what happened along the way are still told. This is where the vineyards flourish in fields dotted by old wells, pine-trees and Kermes oaks which brush shoulders with the crops of this plateau known as Almansa. It is the last slab of the Meseta or central plateau before it drops down to the Valencian coastline. "Atope" means "at the top of" or "at the top of one's game."
Vinification Methods
Manual havest. Fermentation via indigenous yeast in stainless steel tanks. 30% of the wine is transferred to French oak barrels for up to 6 months. Unrefined, lightly filtered. Organic practices. Bush trained vines. Vineyard altitude: 850 meters. Yield: 40hl/ha.
