"A beautiful red with pure fruit, balance, ripe strawberry, orange peel and rose petal. It's full-bodied but remains agile and bright. Fine tannins and a tangy, juicy finish. Hints of earth and iron. Delicious." |
92 Pts International Wine Report |
"The 2011 Evenstad Reserve was aged in French oak for 13 months prior to bottling in April 2013. This has a smoky nose with cinnamon and red currant aromas. Lithe and mineral drive, there are flavors of red cherry and raspberry with vanilla and light tannins. This has pretty good weight considering the coolness of the vintage. The wine opens up after roughly two hours of decanting. This is a wine that will benefit from some time in the bottle." (Best 2017-2027) - September, 2015 ( |
91 Pts Wine Enthusiast |
"Light and elegantly crafted, this iconic release is the textbook example of well-made cool-vintage Oregon Pinot Noir. Itâs aromatic, floral and sillky. The tangy berry fruit is clean and ripe, though definitely on the lighter side. Pretty berry and cherry flavors are set against tart acids, with just a touch of milk chocolate from barrel aging." Description:
About the Wine
Consistently excellent from vintage to vintage, our flagship wine is the defining standard by which all of our Pinot Noirs are measured. A true illustration of the art of blending, the Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir is a wonderfully complex wine that delivers an array of red fruits, caramel, baking spice, vanilla, dried flowers, and potpourri. On the palate, this elegant wine shows a harmonious balance of structure, richness and acidity with soft tannins and a clean, lingering finish. With clonal variation and site driven diversity, we are able to craft this wine to our precise and exacting standards year after year.
