"Brian Loringâs bottling of this vineyard planted by Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni is bursting with raspberry syrup, cola and peppercorns on the nose. The palate boasts notes of strawberry juice, red berries and hibiscus. Itâs luxurious and sexy." |
91 Pts PinotFile |
"Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. Very shy nose upon opening, slowly revealing fruity aromas of black cherry and black raspberry. More sap and structure than the Rosellaâs with a savory herb note complimenting the core of black cherry fruit. Silky smooth on the palate with balanced tannins and a finishing burst of fruit goodness. Much more appealing over time in the glass. This wine has a ways to go and would be best cellared for a year or more." |
Description:
What are the 2013s like? I'd say similar to 2012 but with a notch more depth and intensity. Maybe a cross between 2009 and 2012 - which is a pretty nice place to be! Almost all the barrels in the winery could probably qualify to be in the single vineyard wines, so the AVA Blends should be extra special this time. We'll be mostly looking for power versus softness/prettiness when we make our barrel selections for the single vineyard and AVA wines, respectively." - Winery
