Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

Best Price on Web is determined by Wine-Searcher prices as of yesterday: Wine Library sells this for the sale price of $34.98. There is 1 other store that sells this at $34.99. Please note, we are not taking virtual inventory into account.

Free shipping on 3 bottles or more!
Please Note it may take 24-48 hours for your order to be put together for store pickup. You'll get an email when it's ready for pick up.

91 Pts Wine Spectator

"Alluring, with black tea, toasty wood spice and incense notes leading the way for a core of melted licorice, blackberry and briar. A mouthwatering tobacco note hangs on the finish. Drink now through 2016. 224 cases imported. -JM"

90+ Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

"(15% alcohol): Good medium red-ruby. Wilder, scented, northern Rhone-like aromas of dark berries, game, spices and peppery herbs. Sweet and densely packed but more penetrating than the Syrah 393, giving the middle palate an impression of less body. But this juicy syrah is tighter today. Finishes with serious tannic spine and rising length."

Description:

Winery Tasting Notes
"Medium deep, bright red colour. Upfront wild dark berry fruit, black pepper and nutmeg nose. Full, rich palate packed with complex, ripe fruit and a spicy, peppery overlay. A little more structured than usual from the exceptional 2009 vintage, expected best between 2013 and 2020. Ideal with a variety of rich and slightly spicy meat dishes."

Vineyard Blocks
"Mostly from the neighbouring Keermont vineyard. A north east facing block. 11 yr old vines on 7 wire vertical trellis, clone SH9 on 101.14 rootstock. Soil deep red Hutton, medium potential decomposed granite. Yield 5 tons / hect (36 hl/ha) Also, a smaller portion of younger vines on same soil type and similar yield. Clones SH470 & SH174 on 101-14 &R110 rootstock. A little from our new Tip Top Mont Fleur vineyard. Steep, stony, north west facing slope with narrow rows. Yield 6 tons/hect (43 hl/ha). 8% Petit Verdot included from Keermont vineyard."

About de Trafford
"De Trafford Winery is situated on the beautiful Mont Fleur farm set at the top of a dramatic valley above Stellenbosch, 380m up between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains, right at the end of the Blaauwklip road, between Stellenbosch and Somerset West.

The history of wine growing on this mountain farm started with the purchase of the property in 1976 by the Trafford family as inaccessible grazing land. Many of the high altitude slopes were deemed suitable for high quality red grape varieties. Unfortunately, due to the absurd quota restrictions, planting a commercial vineyard had to wait 18 years. In 1983 a small vineyard was established to produce experimental wines – consumed by family and friends! These were our learning curve years (1984-1991), which included lots of help and advice from local winemakers and working experience in France, particularly in the Bordeaux area."
