"The entry level effort for winemaker Jean Marot, the 2011 Cotes du Ventoux Regain checks in as a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah (from the younger vines of the estate â 15 to 30 years in age) thatâs aged six months in stainless steel. Showing gorgeous Grenache character, with ample sweet kirsch, strawberry, garrigue and hints of peppered steak, this medium to full-bodied 2011 has supple, fine tannin, loads of fruit and a clean, classy finish. In short, it is a knockout bottle of wine that over-delivers. " |

"Vindemio is a vineyard estate created in 2006 by a group of friends united by a passion for wine, and a belief in the conviviality and pleasure that comes with wine. They have been brought together by Jean Marot, former winemaker of Domaine le Murmurium, and his son Guillaume. The small property, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, consists of 25 hectares of organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards near the villages of Mormoiron and Villes sur Auzon at about 300 meters elevation. In the October 2009 issue of the Wine Advocate, Robert Parker commented, âSadly, there is no American importer for this estate, which was founded in 2006.â - No longer an issue!
The great French contemporary writer, Jean Giono, wrote about the rebirth of an abandoned village in one of his books. The story mimics Vindemioâs creation from Murmurium and inspired Regain, or "rebirth" in French." - Importer
