This is a brilliant old vine Primitivo hailing from one of Salentoâs historic estates, Mater Domini. Showing greater rustic earthiness and old world elegance than most California Zinfandels, the 2013 Mater Domini is incredible!
"Dense yet fresh, with juicy acidity supporting black cherry puree and cassis fruit character, rounded out by full tannins and grace notes of ash, olive paste and game. From 60 years old Vineyard Primitivo.
Tenute Materdomini is a young winery located in the Salentino area, close to the town of Lecce. All the vineyards are in the best spot of the region, very close to the seaside at an altitude between 200-300 meters, above the sea level. Perfect characteristics to grow Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera. This estate focuses on producing wines traditionally made with the help of modern technologies." - Importer
