Deepish red/purple colour. Sweet, bold black-plum aroma, the palate is ripe and rich, with bold cherry plum flavours and a quite firm tannin grip which persists. It's straightforward, bold and bright, not very complex nor especially pinot-like. However, it promises to age well and build more complexity as it ages. Very good value. |

"The deep purple/garnet colour reflects the intensity of this wine, presenting lifted dark cherry and blueberry aromas with delicate floral undertones and subtle hints of mocha and smoky oak to add to the complexity. The palate is rich and velvety, full of sweet berry fruit flavours, finishing with complex layers of spice and soft savoury tannins.
This flagship wine is the tenth release of a wine made only when the highest of quality standards can be achieved for the vintage and represents the finest Pinot Noir from Marlborough under the Brancott Estate label. The wine is hand crafted, reflecting the concerted effort in both the vineyard and winery. This Terraces Pinot Noir delivers full concentration of flavours with layers of complexity and a seamless balance between the rich fruit and velvety tannins.

"The southern side of Marlboroughâs Wairau Valley is cooler and drier than the northern side. The soils are much older and more structured with higher clay content. Formed from glacial outwash and wind-blown loess, they are still free-draining, but have a higher nutrient content than those on the northern side of the valley. Brancott Vineyard is typical of this soil type and gives rise to Sauvignon Blanc wines that are flavorsome, textural and have a vibrant, greener edge. Fruit from our Brancott Vineyard forms the back bone for this wine, comprising over 90% of the final blend. " - Winery
