More Ratings:

92 Pts Wine Spectator

"Firm and focused, this white shows purity and intensity, with wet stone, menthol and briny flavors that frame a core of white peach and grapefruit. Fresh, clean and powerful. Drink now through 2018. 1,800 cases made. -TM" (11/14)

90 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media

"Bright straw. High-pitched lemon/lime, pear and honeysuckle scents show very good purity and a hint of chalky minerals. Dry and focused on the palate, offering intense citrus fruit and ginger flavors that gain flesh and power with aeration. Shows a spicy nuance on the mineral-driven, very persistent finish. This would make a great match with simply prepared seafood or young goat cheeses." (09/14)

Description:

Huge Score.
Incredible Price.
A brilliant bottle for well under $20 that will have a ton of fans.

Count us in that group.

If you were skimming through the November 15th issue of the Wine Spectator, you might have noticed Bruce Sanderson's column with the title "Indigenous Grapes from Southern Europe, Austrian Whites, Washington Standouts".

The first wine on the list is this impressive offer from Palacio de Canedo. A stunning Godello that earned 92 Points from the Wine Spectator, this is a tremendous introduction to a varietal that some of you may not know well. Those of you who do however, already know what a screaming value this is.

Winery:
"Organic production goes hand in hand with tradition when we talk about respect for the earth. Abundance and generosity is our reward from the land in exchange for affection, respect and above all hard work and effort. The wine will return our care with the best of its grapes which we transform into an excellent wine, retaining the particular character of our land, our climate and our grape varieties Mencia and Godello.

As a result we simply continue the work that has always gone on at the vineyards: natural fertilization and above all respect for the environment that surrounds us. Lastly we look after the individual plots of land as if all were unique, respecting the singularity of each. We also use traditional working methods and harvest the grape manually in its optimum state, so ensurting a perfect condition when it is brought in. - Importer
