The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

Description:

Discovering intriguing new producers or wines is an exhilarating aspect of our job here, and thisoffer showcases two ‘under the radar’, palate-expanding Italian reds. Surprisingly powerful and complex, both wines excited us for their wild intriguing flavors and aromatics. Brunello is the sweet spot here, so if you’re a fan of wines from Tuscany, especially Montalcino, you are going to flip over this.

Wine #1 is the 2007 Casa Raia Brunello di Montalcino, an artisanal producer that nailed 94 points from James Suckling for its “intense fruit that turns to flowers and spices on the nose and palate. Full-bodied and very well-corseted, with a lovely silky tannin structure.” An estate that once belonged to the iconic Biondi-Santi, Casa Raia sits on a promontory beneath the famed medieval town of Montalcino that saw the first roots of Sangiovese laboring through inhospitable rock over a century ago!

Wine #2 is the 2009 Castello di Lispida “Terraforte”, a spectacular hillside estate in eastern Veneto that was planted to Sangiovese cuttings taken from Gianfranco Soldera’s Case Basse estate in Montalcino! Considering that Soldera’s Brunello di Montalcino is a reference point for all things Brunello and usually start at $300+/bottle, this is a rare treat!

This 2 pack includes 1 bottle of 2009 Castello Di Lispida "Terraforte" Igt and 1 bottle of 2007 Casa Raia Brunello Di Montalcino

2009 Castello Di Lispida "Terraforte" Igt
"Constructed in the 18th century, the cellar includes 9 tunnels with the potential capacity of 25,000 barrels, which is one of the largest in Veneto. Lined with terracotta bricks and un-plastered stones (trachyte), the cellar's temperature is consistently maintained at below 18 degrees Celsius. Employing only natural yeasts, Alessandro ferments his wines in open vat wooden containers or (as of 1996) in buried terracotta amphorae. Racking the wine at spring equinox, Sgaravatti then rests it on its skins for six months inside of the dolia, before removing the skins and leaving the wine to age until the following winter." - Importer

2007 Casa Raia Brunello Di Montalcino
"Gorgeous wine, with intense fruit that turns to flowers and spices on the nose and palate. Full-bodied and very well-corseted, with a lovely silky tannin structure. Loads going on. First time I have tasted this. Better after 2014." - 94 Points James Suckling
