Stephen Tanzer, scoring this 91 Points, remarked "Good full, deep red. Expressive, evolving nose offers musky redcurrant, mocha, tobacco and loamâ¦A nicely full 2007 with fine, ripe, dusty tannins and excellent length and lift. Perfect right now." Winemaking superstar Aaron Pott made this wine from estate-owned vineyards in the famous Rutherford sub-region of Napa Valley. Robert Parker went ballistic over many of Aaron Pott's current releases, scoring them in the 97-98 point range, calling him "the next brilliant winemaking consultant to burst out from the shadows of consulting with his own bevy of sensational and individualistic wines. His resume is impressive, having worked with the likes of the late Christine Valette at Chateau Troplong-Mondot, Michel Rolland, and Johns Kongsgaard at Newton."
Wine #2 is the inaugural release of the 2009 Metaphora Pinot Noir; a stunningly gorgeous vintage that upon release, quickly became the talk all over Napa Valley, with phrases like, âCan you believe the color, the ripeness, the grape maturityâ!?! This wine is comprised of two distinct regions from Napa, Valley: Piero Antinori's Atlas Peak Vineyards and Truchard Vineyard's Pinot-loving, cool climate Carneros. The Atlas Peak fruit brings forth pronounced aromatics of black cherry and strawberry. The Dijon clones that round out this cuvee have been an incredible addition to the world of Pinot Noir vineyards, lending depth of color, alcohol, extract and certainly a more Cote de Nuit character.

The wine has lovely, long flavor persistence, and silky is what most people say when they taste it. The bright acidity of the wine makes it refreshing and longing for another glass.
