Researchers believe that this grape was brought to the region by settlers after the plague had decimated the population. Later DNA profiling has proved Verdicchio to be genetically identical to Trebbiano di Soave. Verdicchio is beloved for its bright and fresh citrus, stone fruits, and almond notes.
